Ampacet Corporation Completes Sale of Its Crockett, TX Facility to Alloy PolymersMay 15, 2006Alloy Polymers, Inc. of Richmond, VA and Ampacet Corporation of Tarrytown, N.Y, have jointly announced the completion of the sale of Ampacet’s Crockett, Texas operations to Alloy Polymers. Over the past 7 years, Ampacet has been operating this plant primarily to service their Wire & Cable toll compounding business. Ampacet has concluded that the compounding activities associated with this plant will no longer be a major core business for them going forward. Subhash Pahuja, President & CEO of Alloy Polymers commented that “this transaction has created a win – win situation for all parties involved”. Through this acquisition, Alloy Polymers will compliment their existing customer base with additional market leading clients; expand their product portfolio, while simultaneously increasing capacity to serve a broader range of quality contract manufacturing services for the market place. Alloy Polymers currently operates two specialty compounding facilities; one in Richmond, VA and the other in Gahanna, OH. With this acquisition, Alloy will increase their specialty compounding capacity to over 300 million pounds all of it targeted to the custom needs of its customers and partners. Robert DeFalco, President & CEO of Ampacet Corp remarked “……The divestiture of our Crockett, Texas toll compounding facility will permit greater focus on Ampacet core strengths as the preeminent global supplier of Color & Additive Masterbatches for multiple market applications. The change in ownership will have no affect whatsoever on our ability to provide our customers with the same quality, and same timely deliveries, of black masterbatches for which Ampacet is known.” |
