The founder and former chairman of Alloy Polymers, Subhash C. Pahuja along with his family, started the 5P Foundation in 1997. The mission of the Foundation has been to provide support for existing charitable organizations focused on healthcare, remediating gender inequity, and promoting education. The 5P Foundation supports initiatives in the United States and Subhash Pahuja’s birth country, India.

Subhash and his family recognized the importance that a solid education played in his life in giving him the foundation to succeed once he came to America. Monies from 5P go to ensure that deserving students in the US and in India are able to pursue their academic dreams without the hindrance of financial concerns. 5P supports a variety of scholarship programs in the US as well as promoting elementary education by funding schools in India.

To date, 5P Foundation’s greatest success has been the establishment of the Sun Flag Charitable Trust for Blood Disorders in Fardiabad India in honor of the Pahuja family’s eldest daughter Gargi. Gargi suffers from Thalassemia, the most common genetic hemoglbinopathy in the world. Survival of this illness is linked to quality of treatment and it is with this in mind that his family started a clinic in India in order to provide subsidized quality care to those also suffering with Thalassemia. The goal of the Pahuja Trust is to provide comprehensive Thalassemia screening, prevention, care and treatment services to the population of Faridabad district and surrounding areas, with intent to expand prevention to a regional/national level. The hope is that as the clinic grows it will become a center of excellence by providing treatment for a variety of blood disorders including hemophilia, sickle cell and blood cancers.

Through the generosity of Alloy Polymers the 5P Foundation will continue in its efforts to improve education and healthcare for all.
